Junior catcher Phillip Chapman's RBI-double to left proved to the game-winner in a 9-8 victory in the opener, but the Tigers squandered a seven-run advantage in the eighth to fall 10-9 in 10 innings in the nightcap. The U of M dropped the three-game series, 2-1.

M. Track. Nerdal Earns Second All-America Performance in Weight Throw
The University of Memphis track and field program was represented by senior thrower Steffen Nerdal at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Nerdal earned his second-straight and third overall All-America performance with a second place finish in the weight throw.

Softball. Tigers Drop Second Game of Doubleheader with UCF, 2-1
The University of Memphis softball team split a doubleheader with UCF on Saturday, suffering a 2-1 loss in game two at the UCF Softball Complex. Both games of the doubleheader were decided by one run with the Tigers winning game one, 1-0.

Softball. Memphis Takes 1-0 Victory Over UCF in C-USA Opener
For the eighth time in the series history between the University of Memphis and UCF, the game was decided by a single run. The Tigers (11-7, 1-0) edged the Knights (13-10, 0-1), 1-0, in the Conference USA opener for both schools in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

The University of Memphis women's tennis team fell to the 59th-ranked Arizona Wildcats, 6-1, on Friday in Tucson, Ariz. With the loss, the Lady Tigers fall to 7-12 on the season.

Dallas Baptist's offense scored runs in just three innings. However, the Patriots crossed four runs each in two of those three innings to defeat Memphis, 9-4, in the series opener on Friday afternoon.

Softball. Rain Cancels Opening Game of Series with UCF
Inclement weather canceled the opening game of a three-game series with UCF on Friday night at the UCF Softball Complex. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday at 12 and 2 p.m. (EST) to open both schools Conference USA schedule. The third game of the series will not be made up.

The University of Memphis softball team completes its 10 day, 10 game road trip in Florida with a three-game series at UCF to open Conference USA play on Friday and Saturday. The two teams will play a single game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. (EST) at the UCF Softball Complex and close with a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m.
