The University of Alabama's seventh-ranked women's golf team battled high winds and difficult scoring conditions to shoot a 26-over-par 314 during the second round of the Tiger/Wave Golf Classic on the par-72, 6,132-yard English Turn Golf and Country Club layout on Saturday.

Softball. Softball Splits SEC Doubleheader with Georgia
In the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams the No. 7 ranked Alabama softball team split its doubleheader with No. 4 Georgia Saturday at the UGA Softball Field. The Bulldogs earned the victory in game one by the score of 3-0 but the Crimson Tide rallied to an 8-5 win in the nightcap. After the day Alabama moves to 16-6 overall and 1-1 in SEC play while Georgia posts a 19-2 record and a 1-1 mark in league action.

W. Track. Women's Track Finishes 60th at NCAA Indoor Championships
Freshman Krystle Schade led the Alabama women's track and field team at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center this weekend, scoring the only points and collecting the Tide's only All-American award.

Baseball. Baseball Team Sweeps Stony Brook with Strong Starting Pitching
Alabama junior right-hander Jimmy Nelson and senior left-hander David Head combined on a six-hit shutout as the No. 25 Crimson Tide blanked Stony Brook 5-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The 69th-ranked women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision Friday to No. 20 South Carolina at the University of Alabama Tennis Stadium. With the loss, the Crimson Tide falls to 6-6 overall and 0-3 in the Southeastern Conference, while the Gamecocks improve to 8-3 on the season and 3-0 in league play.
